Daisy Doodles by Michelle Robinson, Irene Dickson and Tom Weller (Oxford Children's Books / OUP)

Enter the world of a child's imagination, find a rich tapestry of storytelling, and meet one mischievous mouse...!
"Daisy Doodles" is a fab new book by ace storytelling chum Michelle Robinson, with illustrations and photography from Irene Dickson and Tom Weller.

It instantly feels different from other picture books on the market due to some innovative uses of photography throughout the book. But before we get ahead of ourselves, let's find out a little more about the story.

Daisy Doodle loves nothing better than cracking out her favourite pens and pencils, settling down for a spot of drawing (oh we are so WITH you on that, Daisy!)

One day she draws a little mouse named Pipsqueak - and to her surprise he comes to life and leads her on the most magical adventure.

Like Alice, Daisy goes through the mirror into a magical world of imagination and fun in a doodled world full of incredible characters. But will she make it home in time for tea (and a quick tidy-up?)

The book is really eye-catching as we mentioned, and the story (though fairly floaty and dream-like) coasts along quite pleasantly. It certainly will inspire youngsters who also love drawing and daydreaming.

"Daisy Doodles" by Michelle Robinson, Irene Dickson and Tom Weller is out now, published by Oxford Children's Books / OUP (kindly supplied for review).
